It's Pension Poverty As Funds Suffer 42Billion Hit.

According to an article in the Daily Express newspaper yesterday, during January to February 2009 pension assets plunged from £410 billion to £ 368 billion.

This huge drop is due to the global stockmarket turmoil and the 10% drop means the value of four million workers pension accounts has slunped by two-thirds since the beginning of the credit crunch.

These pension-pot figures are a massive blow to hard hit workers who are already fighting off redundancy threats, pay freezes and record low returns on savings.

Ofcourse, none of this is the fault of the workers who have put aside money from their incomes to ensure their retirement is a happy and fulfilling time, but it is those same people who will suffer because of the credit crunch and stock market downturn.

I personally, do not even pretend to understand how all this could happen so quickly, but I do know that I have done something about it to stave off the worst of the credit crunch by having my own website selling products on the internet, at bargain prices.

People who have some cash to spare and need a particular item for themselves or their home, are going on the net to look around for the best possible bargains to be had, and because of the credit crunch, sellers are having to reduce their prices to stay in business.

Now is the time to look after your future, learn new skills and create a second income to bolster up the beleagured pension. Lets face it, the UK state pension is very poor and just gives people enough to exist on, with nothing left to enjoy the latter part of your life with dignity and freedom to do those things you always wanted to do when you had the time - like going on a long hall trip etc.

Don't wait until you come to retirement before doing anything about your income, start now to earn that extra cash - buying a website with full back up training to drive traffic to your site is the perfect answer to getting a second income, you do not need stock or staff to pay, you can do everything yourself in the comfort of your own home and at your own pace.

70% of people already buy off the internet - they could be buying off your website TODAY.

2MILLION WORKERS POSTPONE RETIREMENT

According to the Daily Express newspaper dated March 4th in excess of 2 million workers have been forced to abandon retirement plans as a result of the financial crisis.

Research from insurer Prudential indicates that the falling value of pension funds is the main reason many people feel they are unable to retire with adequate income.

And the devastating effect that this week's stock market falls will have on UK pension savings is likely to make matters worse.

Of those workers deciding to delay their retirement, the majority said that their pension holdings would not recover until at least 2012.

Pru spokesman Martyn Bogira said: "It is a reflection of the difficult economic situation that so many workers, and particularly those in the private sector roles who do not benefit from public sector final salary pension schemes, are trying to delay retirement.

Could this be a time for pensioners to consider a way of supplementing their income when retirement arrives and take the worry out of their later years?

Having your own ready made website selling products directly to the public, on a commission earning basis can supplement your income and give yourself some financial independence - It's worth looking into.

SHARES CRASH PUTS PENSIONS AT RISK

HARD WORKING Britons were last night facing a devastating impact on their pension funds as £50 billion was wiped off the stock market in yet another Black Monday.

The FTSE 100 plunged to a six-year low while shares on New York's Dow fell to their lowest mark since 1997.

Markets across Europe fell with a stark warning that the worst may be yet come. The losses will leave many Britons worrying about whether they will have enough to live on in retirement because their benefits schemes rely on the performance of stock market investments.

Many of those coming to retirement age may have to postpone cashing in their pension pot until the stock market recovers enough to enable pensioners to live a reasonably comfortable retirement.

Now would be the perfect time to acquire a second income to sustain a decent quality of life in retirement, possibly a ready made website selling products to the public, which can earn good commissions - all this can be done at your own pace and in your own home without the responsiblity of hiring staff or premises.

Will Your Pensions Fund Pot Be Safe?

It seems nothing is safe from the financial crisis we are all experiencing now.

Hard working people who have put aside money into a pension fund to enable them to have a comfortable and financially secure retirement, now find all their plans could be under threat through no fault of their own.

This government is bailing out the banks that have caused this mess in the first place, now it really is time the Government stood up for the decent hard working British worker and protected the pension funds.

It seems to me that the respectable and honest workers of this country who make a real effort to do the right thing and make themselves financially independent by sacrificing a portion of the wages each month into a fund, are the ones being unfairly hit hard by the financial crisis.

Pension funds seem to be disappearing down a big black hole - now is the time for real action to be taken or we all may as well have SPENT all our money and relied on state benefits and hand outs rather than doing the responsible thing by making ourselves independant financially.

How long this recession will last is anybody's guess, maybe now is the time to start thinking about getting a second income to sustain ourselves through our retirement because it is plain that the pension funds we hoped would sustain us may be much smaller then we hoped for.
