Equitable Grief.

The contrast between the way in which the British Government has splashed out money supporting the bad banks and building societies and has ignored the claims of Equitable Life Pensioners, is stark.

The decision by the policy holders action group to challenge the British Government's decision NOT to implement the Parliament Ombudsman's report is disgraceful and another setback for over a million people about to reach pension age and retire.

Many people now face a ruined retirement, having lost some, if not all of the private pensions - Lets face it, the Old Age Pension is completely inadequate for people to have a happy and enjoyable retirement.

It seems that if you work hard, put money aside to ensure you have a good and happy retirement, you are being put in an unfair position - Whilst greedy bankers, who are to blame for this financial mess, are still paying themselves huge BONUSES.

It's not fair, it's not right, it's an outrage.

According to the Pension Protection Fund, Defined benefit schemes that are in the red, saw the funding deficit soar to £ 253.1 Billion during March 2009, three times higher that March 2008 £ 81.5 Billion.

The PPF which was set up to ensure that people did not lose their pension if their company went bust, said, 90% of the 7,400 schemes that belonged to the PPF scheme, faced a shortfall.

Will the PPF have the teeth to help pensioners who are in the scheme, to get the British Government to pay out their lost money - that remains to be seen, I really hope so, otherwise the government will be inundated with claims from new OAP's for benefits such as pension credits, etc.

What a mess - it makes me wonder whether it's worth while making provision for your old age, you may as well spend all your money enjoying yourself and claim for every benefit you can from this British Government - let's face it, we are the Soft Touch of Europe.

Bring on the next election!!

Build Up A Second Income Now To Supplement Your Pension Fund.

For those people who have worked hard and put aside money each month towards a pension to enable them to enjoy their retirement, this financial crisis must be very worrying because they have no idea what has happened to the pension pot - what part of it has just disappeared down a big black hole.

There are also company pension schemes which are also in jeopardy because the companies themselves may become bankrupt and the pension which should be kept aside, may have already been spent. It's a bad situation and, seemingly, out of our control.

Now is the time to do something about earning a second income which can be built up over the next months and years, that will augment the loss of private pension and could, if worked at, become very lucrative indeed.

Have you ever thought of having your own Website, selling products and services on the internet. You dont need to cary stock, you can work from the comfort of your own home and at your own pace, you earn commissions automatically and your overheads are minimal.

By buying a ready made website, with proper back up training, you can learn to drive traffic to your website and earn money. Does that sound OK. Well it is do-able, and in just a short period of time and training, you can earn that extra cash.

If you want a retirement with money to spend on those holidays you always promised yourself, you will need money to have your wishes come true. You cannot rely on your pension fund to give your that (unless of course you are Sir Fred Goodwin) but you can do something to help yourself to the retirement you have worked so hard for and have earned.

Don't worry if you are not a computer whiz kid - just good basic computer literacy is fine, but please ensure you get the right training to help drive traffic to your website, otherwise, no-one will see it.
